Family 1st Year Sessions are a great way for the family to come together and celebrate the love they share for each other in portraiture.  These 1st year photos are very special.  Turning One is a big point for any child. The family portrait is am image that will be loved, cherished and viewed for many years to come. There is no reason to take an awkward stiff photograph, where everyone looks forced & posed. There are plenty of ways to be creative and compose a fun and get a beautiful shot without it looking like one of your grandmothers photos from her days.  Those days have long passed.

Our goal is to show emotion and closeness in your family portraits. Let you hold and hug each other if you feel you want to. You can also make generational differences obvious; usually the age differences are clear if not its important to have the right body language, I take care of that. Taking these kinds of shots in natural light, capture any big smiles the moment they happen; asking people to hold a smile gives an unnatural effect and you see it in facial expressions every time.  We aim to capture you right in the moment of happiness, so that when you view your image it takes you right back to that place and time and that feeling you had when we photographed you.
